Trăm năm trong cõi người ta,
Chữ tài chữ mệnh khéo là ghét nhau.
A hundred years inside this borrowed world — talent and fate were born to hate each other.
Everything I Gave Away
The First Reader Offer
Part One is yours, free, in both languages. The festival road, the grave with no name, the wind that answers. Read it and see if you can stop.
The Honest Comparison
Every famous love story in the West asks the same question: will they end up together? Kiều asks a harder one.
What do you do after you give them up — on purpose, to save the people you love — and how do you survive what comes next and still come out yourself?
Editions
The story stays clean — no ads, ever, inside Kiều's pages. These are simply the doors.
Side income, the way my family had to build it: sharing books like this is one honest $500–$2,000/month path. Ask me how at free5free.pages.dev.
For Producers & Showrunners
In nineteenth-century Vietnam, a brilliant seventeen-year-old sells herself to a stranger to save her wrongly imprisoned family — and vows, on the dark road into the unknown, to survive whole.
Comps: the doomed romance of These Violent Delights × the soul of The Song of Achilles × the sweep of Pachinko. Eight act-shaped movements, a castable ensemble, signature set-pieces, a cliffhanger built to launch a series.
Public-domain source · two centuries and tens of millions of devoted readers · a prestige edition and full series bible exist. Inquiries welcome.
Walk A Little Further
What you read has genuine value — months of work, two languages, a story carried by hand across an ocean. A voluntary gift pours straight back into the next book in the cycle.
Gieo nhân nào, gặt quả đó. — As you sow, so shall you reap.
Three things I believe in, for anyone building a life the way my family had to:
Who Tells This Story
Cờ Vàng Ba Sọc Đỏ — the flag my family lived and served under.
I was eleven when I ran out of Vietnam, the eldest hope of nine siblings and two parents. Three months in a refugee camp in Malaysia. Then America, foster homes, three jobs, a degree from the Carlson School at the University of Minnesota. Ten years in the FBI in national security and counterintelligence. Twenty years after I ran, I had brought my whole family to America — every one of them, all thriving.
I know, from the inside, what it costs a child to pay an impossible price for the people she loves. That is why I was the one to tell Kiều's story to a new generation. Survivor to survivor, across two hundred years.
May you always be loving, laughing & living your life to the fullest!
